Climbers Paradise

If rock climbing is your sport Aspe Valley is your spot! With so many spectacular cliffs you will be spoiled for choice. There are well defined climbing routes for all levels, from beginers to advanced.

You will find in this and neighbouring valleys wonderful and challenging cliffs like «Arguibelle» and the «Mâture» (photo above). See some more photos of the «Local Climbers».

However is not all rock climbing . . . there are wonderful ice water falls to climb during winter and tree climbing during summer! The «Course Acrobatique Forestier» runs at the heart of natural forests with 4 per courses for different levels.

If you would like some professional guidance or tuition there is plenty of local help. You can book from half a day to a week long course or just rent the appropriate equipment.

Fountains Of Escot

With our family run «Bed & Breakfast» and «Self-catering» accommodation we are an ideal base for climbing. Just next to us we have the Viaduct of Escot with the cliffs of the «Defile d’Escot» where you can climb among eagles and vultures (there are colonies and nests).

Also in the property we have a natural rock climbing wall which is used for training and practising by climbing enthusiasts. See the «Property plan».

Le Mur

One of the highest indoor climbing walls in France is in our nearest town of Oloron. Here you find some of the best climbers in France with female national champions!

For beginners, enthusiasts and for training, the climbing-wall in Oloron offers over 70 paths from 15-25m in length and 4+ to 8b levels of difficulty (20m slants, 15m verticals and slabs). And for those who like big thrills, a 20 m high acrobatic itinerary awaits them, with rappelling of 15 m into empty space.

Great fun also for children it opens all year round.
