1) Main Building
See the «Reception rooms» page for a description of the groundfloor plan in the main building.

2) Fronton and small Swimming Pool
This is in the middle of the enclosed garden and large lawn area. The children’s swimming pool is located in the back corner. See the «Outdoor facilities» and «Family friendly» pages for further information.

3) Sheep and Horses Shelter
This is a small wooden construction.

4) Swimming Pool (under repair)
This is a large olympic size swimming pool that is under repair. We have plans to fill it with thermal waters in the near future.

5) Thermal-SPA
This is where the historical thermal stone cabins are located. There is an ancient and small path that goes down from the main building. See the «Thermal spa» page for further information.

6) Roman Wells
There are several wells carved into the rock for the thermal waters. See the «Thermal spa» page for further information.

7) Aspe River
Travels in a south-north direction along the Aspe Valley. From the peaks of the Pyrenees towards Oloron, Bayonne and the Atlantic Ocean. See the «River Aspe» page for further information.

8) Private Road
Used to be the National road before the bypass was build. Today is private and passes in front of the courtyard providing ample parking space. A branch of this lane goes to a small bridge over the river and ends shortly after on the far bank.

9) Small Cave
It shelters a colony of rear Pyrenean salamanders There is a 2nd small cave next to the thermal-SPA with a protected colony of bats.

10) Rock Climbing Wall
This is a vertical rock wall used by climbers for training purposes. See the «Rock climbing» page for further information.

11) International Road RN134
Goes from Oloron Sainte-Marie (north) to Jaca and Zaragoza in Spain (south). Originally build by the Romans as the main entrance to the Iberian peninsula. See the «How to get here» page for further information.

12) Public picnic area
Where the original National Road used to be.

13) Auloret Waterfall
The exit of the railway tunnel is also here. The track continues to the Viaduct of Escot.

14) Auloret Stream
It comes all the way from the Roumendares mountain. Forming, on the way down, spectatular waterfalls used by «Canyoning» enthusiasts. See the «Canyoning» page for further information.

15) Fountains Of Escot Tunnel (290m)
It was inagurated in 1914 as part of the railway that goes from Pau to Canfranc in Spain. The track was closed in the 70s and today is used for hiking. It is interesting to walk along this railway track and tunnel towards the magnificent "Viaduct of Escot". This is the longest stone viaduct in France a masonery masterpiece. 16) Railway Tunnel Entrance
The famous «Dr Boisson Itinerary» also starts from here. This is a mountain track to the Edelweiss and the Roumendares peak. See the «Trekking & hiking» page for further information.

17) Pyrenean Geological Stop
This is a geological Spot of a well documented geological tour of the Pyrenees. This tour discovers the geology of Aspe Valley allowing to study the 400 million years of the fabulous history of the formation of the Pyrenees. A big official panel explains the interesting geology of the Fountains Of Escot. 18) Mineral Water Spring
This is a natural cold water spring.

19) Orchard
You can find here many fruit trees: pears, apples, peaches, walnuts, figs etc.

20) Roman Bridge
This bridge is still intact under the road. Archeology enthusiasts can explore it from below following the course of the stream.

21) Private Hill
This is a wood and there is a nature trail leading to the top of the hill.

22) Private Parking
Perfect for motorhomes and campers with good views of the river.

23) Lagoon and Coves
The water is deeper and calmer here and is good for river swimming. The rock has been carved by the river forming coves with natural sculptures. See the «River Aspe» page for further information.

24) Treasure Island
Children love this river island in front of the lagoon. They build tree houses and other adventure activities. See the «Family friendly» page for further information.

25) Whirlpool
This is a very beautiful spot where the river water oxigenates. See the «River Aspe» page for further information.

26) Meadows
Private picnic area next to the river with wild flowers, horses and sheep.

27) River Terrace
In front of the sandy/stone beach with chairs, tables, hammock and BBQ. Easy ramp access to the river. See the «Outdoor facilities» page for further information.

28) Bridge over River Aspe
This is mainly a pedestrian river bridge. It is used by walkers and pilgrims that wish to follow the «St James way».

29) Pisciculture Spring
This is a natural spring, that has been explored, so far, to a depth of 150m by speleologist/divers. Ample underwater caves with stalactites and stalagmites have been discovered. See the «Geology of the Fountains Of Escot» page for further information.

30) St James pilgrims way
This ancient and famous path that follows the course of the river all the way to Spain. It conveniently links our villages of Escot and Sarrance. See the «St James way» page for further information.

31) Isson Stream
Comes all the way down from the «Trône du Roi» mountain. Forming, on the way down, spectatular waterfalls used by canyoning enthusiasts. See the «Canyoning» page for further information.
