What is Basque pelota?
Basque pelota refers to several court sports played with a ball (pelota), using one’s hand, a racket (pala), a wooden bat or a basket, against a wall (fronton).
1 wall, 1 ball and 2 people: this is the minimum required to play Basque pelota.
The game is similar to squash but is played against one wall only.
Today, the sport of Basque pelota is concentrated in Spain and France, especially in the Basque Country.
