Activities
Pau, the British and Golf
Golf was introduced to the continent in 1856 via British settlers living in Pau.
Pau was the first city in continental Europe to play golf.
Golf became very quickly popular and spread to other cities like Biarritz in 1888.

Today the Pau Golf Club still retains a distinctly English atmosphere.
Other than Pau there are 11 famous courses in Pyrenees Atlantiques.
All these are within close vicinity and have spectacular views.
For a more rustic course with enchanting charm you could try the Epherra located in Chiberta, Anglet.
Les Valleés
There are also smaller and less famous courses like «Les Valleés» just outside our nearest town of Oloron.
Still great fun with 9 holes, 2 greens (with 250m runs to practice the swing), 1 banker, 1 putting green, 8 grass places outdoors and 3 indoors.
