Perfect Base Camp

The geographical situation of the Fountains Of Escot is unparalleled for activities close to nature! Firstly we are inside the Pyrenees National Park and secondly one of the most beautiful rivers in France, the «Gave d’Aspe», literally passes through the property. The Aspe valley, the wildest in the Pyrenees, is almost a secret valley waiting to be discovered!

Fountains Of Escot with its family run «Bed & Breakfast» and «Self-catering» accommodation is an excellent base camp for your favourite activity or activities. The château offers easy access and many opportunities to try out a variety of adventurous activities.

Don’t need to go far

Some activities can take place or start from our premises. For example pelote basque (we have our own fronton); river centred activities like fishing (trout and salmon), river swimming, rafting, kayaking and hydro-speeding; and of course starting from the property hiking, trekking and cycling.

A Valley to be Discovered!

Other popular activities within close proximity to the property include paragliding, climbing, canyoning, horse riding, golf, motor sports, skiing etc. Even going surfing from Biarritz is within reach.

Oloron Sainte-Marie

Two years ago, our nearest town of Oloron Sainte-Marie, won the prestigious award «The most sportive town of France»! First-class sporting facilities have contributed to this achievement. Just to mention a few: The MTB infrastructre recognised by the French Cycling and Touring Federation (CTFF); The Trinquet and «plantier» sports complex; and The large Saint-Pée Sports Plain.

Leclerc Sports & Leisure

Just outside Oloron on the way to Fountains Of Escot we have a shoping center dedicated to Pyrenean sports. All equipment and accessories for mountain, cycling, fishing, hunting, horse riding, canyoning etc are also available for renting.

There are also various repair workshops for bicycles, ropes, skis etc. You can also find GPS systems, maps, guide books etc. With a state of the art internet café, where you can have snacks while you read your e-mails etc. It opens from 09:00 to 19:30 from Monday to Saturday.
